From the beginning, history has
been carved on stones; ancient Romans and Egyptians, people of
most every land and extensively by Native Americans. Monuments
to triumphs and tragedies alike, and much closer and personal,
are the cemeteries across the land; final resting places of war
veterans, ancestors, close family and friends.
Our earthly journey brings together bits and pieces of lives,
creating events and memories which remain long after we are
gone; to be...
ETCHED IN STONE.

"One of the most rewarding
aspects of my lifetime has been living, knowing and seeing my
life and other's in a perspective that I could put into song;
and the young people whom I may have influenced with my music,
such as my very good friends and protégés, John Beam and Craig
Dillingham (who have become fantastic musicians and
songwriters). I want to extend my special thanks to my wife Jan,
Doug, Gary, Dana and Shannon and all of the musicians who were
kind enough to help us with this project. I hope you enjoy this
CD because it is an honest effort to portray life in songs."
Rick Sikes

Most of the material on this CD
was written by Rick & Jan Sikes and it tells a story of a man's
life with music.
"There once lived a man, who
did etchings in stone. He told other's stories, but could not
tell his own. He labored away, until he'd get it right; seems
he'd take forever because that stone told their life. Maybe that
of a friend; or someone he'd known. Chiseled straight from his
heart, were the etchings in stone."
From the song, "Etchings In Stone." Words & Music by John Beam
and Rick Sikes.
