Music has had a powerful influence since the early days of man. Singing and music have always had an important role in Deva's life. She grew up listening to such greats as: Patsy Cline, Ketty Lester, Roy Orbison, Willie Nelson and too many others to name. With each song they had the power to make you laugh of cry. Their heartaches, loves, trials and triumphs that were captured in each magical note made you feel exactly what they were feeling.

Growing up in Coleman, TX Deva sang in the church choir and was a member of the Junior High and High School bands. She attended Texas Tech University where she studied music, then graduated from the University of North Texas where Norah Jones attended.

Deva's Dad, Rick Sikes, had the pleasure of working with a number of talented entertainers over the years; people like: Dean Beard, Willie Nelson, Red Foley, Bobby Bare, Jimmie C. Newman, Bob Wills, and Little Jimmy Dickens, to name a few. He has written hundreds of songs and now, at 27, Deva has had the pleasure of recording a couple of them that she felt were special and should be transformed from paper to music.
