Jan grew up in the hot dusty desert of New Mexico. She was raised in a Pentecostal church where she learned to sing with charisma and conviction.

At 18, she left home and moved to Abilene, Texas where she met Rick Sikes. That meeting would change her life forever. Rick was a singer/songwriter and a regional superstar. He performed with some of the great entertainers of the time, such as Bob Wills, Willie Nelson, Little Jimmy Dickens, Red Foley, Jimmie C. Newman and Bobby Bare - just to name a few.

She fell in love with him and after many years of separation due to Rick being incarcerated, they finally married in 1985 and raised two beautiful and talented daughters.

Rick was away from the music scene for a long period of time. He recently re-emerged with recordings of original and heart-rending songs on a CD called "Etchings In Stone" with Jan singing backup harmony.

Rick encouraged and inspired Jan to play guitar and to begin writing songs. This CD is a sampling of her emerging talent.
